Blackhorse Finance/ LLoyds TSB PPI Help!

Hi guys
Hoping someone may be able to help me - I have a few questions...apologies if this is covered elsewhere....
In 2005 I took out a personal loan with Blackhorse Finance. I genuinely believe I have been mis-sold PPI as at the time was told by the salesperson that I wouldn't get the loan if I didn't take out the PPI (owing to being single and having no way to repay should I find myself unemployed). Furthermore I have had a medical condition for the last 20 years. I wasnt asked about medical history, nor was i informed of the impact it could have should i need to make a claim.
Anyway, loan was completely paid off. It was only £1500 so I dont anticipate that the PPI will be for much, its just the principle!
I wrote to Lloyds TSB (as they own Blackhorse?) approx 6 weeks ago including the FOS questionnaire and supporting documents. Letter was sent recorded but I haven't heard anything since? My questions are:
1. Was i right to write to Lloyds TSB?
2. How long would you normally expect to wait for a response?
3. What should my next steps be?
Any advice would be greatly received. Thanks in advance!

Hello there Sarah
Wishing you luck on your reclaiming.
Regarding your questions.
1) Depending who set up and sold the loan, is the ones you pursue, so if it were BH, you write to them, or otherwise Lloyds if they set it up and sold it to you.
2) They normally have 8 weeks, but you should receive a confirmation letter within a week or 2.
3) The letter you receive confirm they've received your complaint, and when to expect to hear, basically the procedures, although they have 8 weeks, you may still hear before that, or they will let you know if they need more time.
I would see what the decision says and take it from there, sometimes if they do not uphold in your favour first time round, they may ask for more information and give you the opportunity to complain free to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS).
Going by your reasons though, you do have a strong enough case in my opinion, so good luck, please keep us posted, cheers.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi
Update: It has now been over 8 weeks and i STILL havent received a response (not even an acknowledgement) from LLoyds TSB/Blackhorse. I checked Royal Mail tracking service and my FOS Questionnoaire was signed for on 17th January...
Can anyone advise on what my next step should be? Should I write to them again or just go streight to the Ombudsman?
Thanks in advance

Ring them and ask if they are dealing with your complaint.

Only go to FOS when Lloyds have given you a final response.0
