Boiler making strange noise

Please bear with me cos I hope that I make sense.
We have a Valliant boiler and it is about 3 years old now or just under. It is for hot water and heating. For the past few days the central heating has been noisy (not the boiler) the radiator in my bedroom had an air lock because ever since I have bled the radiators it has been fine quiet as a mouse. We have recently had a lot of decorating completed and the radiators have been off and on and we have always refilled the boiler by turning a screw underneath to 1.5. (sounds like I know what I am talking about but trust me I don't). However ever since the central heating was really noisy and I bled a lot of air out of the systems whenever we use our hot water after about 30 seconds the boiler is making a noise it never used to make. It is like a rushing, windtunnel type of noise.
I am broke this week after having my car towed from being slightly in a doctors bay and really can't afford to get somebody in if it is minor. All the light indicators are working on the boiler and the water is hot etc.
Any suggestions in plain English please as I am a simple type of gal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You say you set it to 1.5. Was that after you bled the radiators?. If not check that it is still 1.5I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

I forgot to mention. Make sure the system is off when you bleed the radiatorsI used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

Hi, it was at 1.5 after the radiators were bled, the heating is fine just the noise when the hot water is used I get paranoid and think we are all going to blow up and start worrying really bad. The water is hot exactly as before just now makes a strange noise. ThanksNo Matter what you do there will be critics.0

Hi
It sounds like you have some air caught up in the boiler. Somewhere in the boiler is an auto air vent, it may even stick out of the top.(As a rule I turn them off (it's a little black cap exactly the same as a car tyre valve.) as not only do they let air out but also in.Some are fitted in the boiler in such a way that if they leak water/air and it drips onto electrics.) This needs to be checked.
As ariba10 says when filling the system turn it off. Fill to 1 bar when cold.
As you have taken off some rads you have diluted any inhibitor in the system. It would be a good idea to get some back in.In your case it would be best to use one of the injected methods via a rad air vent.
If the boiler has not been serviced in 3 years maybe get it done now.Vaillant recommend the expansion vessel is checked at 3 year intervals.(See installation book.)

Thanks so much for the advice, I have tried to find a Corgi Registered plumber but they seem very difficult to find can anyone help me for Essex please. I am going to get the boilered serviced etc so it runs smoothly and I have peace of mind, when you have kids in the house you have to be sure.No Matter what you do there will be critics.0

Hi again: Go to https://www.trustcorgi.com and enter your post code. You will then have a list of CORGI registered in your area. I would advise you ask neighbours and friends who they use (personal recommendation is always the best route!)
Good luck.

I think I know what you mean in terms of the noise. After being serviced our Baxi combi made a dronning whooshing noise when it was on - it worked fine. Anyway turned out the actual boiler cover wasnt on properly (the 'cosmetic' cover) this was vibrating and resonating when it was on (it was quite an alrming sound) refitting it cured it (and tightening the screws that the engineer hadn't)
I know its a long shot - but worth a try?0
