Hi
Can anyone offer some help.
In Sept 2010 I was placed on a payment plan by the Halifax, I paid off 30 pounds every month. I was told my account would be frozen and no charges would be added. In August 2011 I had around 900 pounds still owing the Halifax called me and placed me on a further 3 month arrangement plan I made my payment in sept to then receive a solitons letter confirming court action if I didn't pay within 14 days I called the Halifax to be told that I needed to pay, I explained I was on a payment plan to be then told to ignore the letter. I called Halifax in oct to make my monthly payment to be informed it had gone to recoveries I said I was on a payment plan and why was that. The recoveries team called me a liar they said no arrangement had been put in place. I got put bk through to the Halifax to be told that yes I was still on a payment plan and that they couldn't understand why it had been passed to recoveries. Anyway basically I was put on a 3 month arrangement but it could have ended at anytime. I then found out that the debt had actually got some charges on it yet all charges was suppose to be frozen. I then found out that the account had defaulted. I recieved no letter firstly they tried to make out the solicitors letter was the default letter then they changed their minds and said that was the final warning letter. I managed to clear the debt in jan 2012 I have only ever recieved 1letter from Blair Oliver Scott dispute asking a total of 10 times for a letter confirming they had taken on the debt. I recieved the paying in book from bos 3weeks after paying the debt off. The complaint is now with fos, Halifax have admitted in writing their has been a lot of miss communication and miss information from them and I have recieved compensation to the value of around 400 over the period of 6 months as I have complained a lot and still things keep happening. The one thing thy are saying has been correct is the default letter apparently I have recieved it it's amazing they have made a mess of the rest yet this is done correctly.
I'm hoping the fos will overturn the default.
As anyone else had something similar happen and come out better off

Further update
Spoke with Halifax who are now saying that my account defaulted because I was on a dmp for 12 months and cut off is 7 months so why do they put you on 12 month arrangement plans if they know they will default before hand plus because I couldn't affored anymore than 30 pounds a month, they are saying I wasn't making an effort to pay the debt
Has anyone been in a situation like this0 -
Oh and btw
Blair oliver and scott is Bank of scotland (BOS) Dont let them fool you otherwise!,Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Send them a formal complaint, signed for. Complain that they defaulted you while agreeing an arrangement without informing you up front. May get some sensible response.:beer:0
