Hi all. Lost some data (mainly Docs) whilst managing partitions on my HD. Tried PC Inspector which seems to have picked up the lost files but I can not open them at all as they appear to be corrupted or something.
Is there an alternative good recovery program (not necessarily free) that would do a better? Did a google search on the best one but didn't get a straight answer.

Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????

AFN
"Windows Recovery" ? A restore point or a re-install from a recovery partition/XP CD ?
Either way Do NOT use the PC.
Depending on what you have done you may need to put the Hard Disk in another PC and use a partition recovery tool - if it was a recovery partition. If it was a restore point - look in the C:\Documents and Settings\ folder for you account name.
Download the tools given above to a usb keyRich people save then spend.
Poor people spend then save what's left.0 -
You could try Recuva from the same people that bring us the excellent CCleaner. Its in Beta, but seems to work perfectly well. Its Freeware so you might as well give it a try.
