Is it possible to tap into water supplied to bathroom?

We dont have running hot water in kitchen as water pressure is too poor to spark up our boiler. However, the pressure is good in bathroom, so I wondered if there was any way to use bathroom water supply in kitchen?

Hope u understand, im not even sure how to explain what im asking, sorry :o

Thanks in advance :)

the hot water to the kitchen and the bathroom come from the same source.
either a combi boiler direct, or the hot water cylinder.

if you cannot fire up the boiler, how do you heat the hot water?
what sort of boiler do you have?
im assuming an old gravity type system with a CWS tank in the loft?

the cold (drinking) water to the kitchen should come direct from the mains. not from a tank.

if you have a CWS tank, then it will supply all the other cold taps, wc cisterns, and the boiler.
    Get some gorm.

All we have is a boiler in kitchen (not combi as we hv no central heating), no water tank.

We live in an old tenement style bulding, but what I dont understand is that flat above, and flat below us both have excellent water pressure. Our pressure is enough in bathroom to ignite the boiler in kitchen, so we can run a hot bath no problem. However in kitchen the water pressure is very poor....(it takes about a minute to fill a kettle). Scottish water investigated and said pressure coming from street was excellent, all stop-cocks are fully opened, and we had our boiler checked over too. Just dont know what else to do now.

If anything it's usually the other way around, you get hot water in the kitchen better 'cos it's a shorter run.
Do you have any sort of pump that isn't working properly ?

Turn water off. Remove tap head gear and clean up, replace tap washer which is most likely perished and causing an obstruction. Replace head gear in tap body.. Check tap body for carp in there whilst you are at it.

If you have 1/4 turn ceramic disk type headgear then replace it - its not user serviceable.

Turn water back on. OK now?

    Cheers

PS You don't have a pressure problem you have a flow rate problem.

No pump that I know of SailorSam....oh I really should have got DH to do this, im a bit clueless to say the least :(

Thank you keystone for explaining so clearly, I will get DH onto this asap. Actually I think the problem might have started when we got our new kitchen, which included new sink and fancy schmancy mixer tap.....hmmm....now uv got me thinking! Will do as you recommend and report back.

There's a clue there. Is your new fancy tap compatible? High pressure tap on low pressure system perchance? It might not be knackered internally at all just totally restrictive to flow. If the fitter used flexi tails that will also restrict flow as will the use of any form of isolating valve that isn't full bore.

    Cheers

    as above,
most likely the tap is the wrong type or is blocked up.
or theres a blockage in the pipeline.

Poor things are probably only just over the shock over my sheer incompetence eh?

P.S. The pressure in the combi-boiler hasn't dropped yet and the toilet still is as quiet as a mouse!

Hope you get the help you need FeeFeeDee

Does the 'fancy new tap' have a ridge about 1 cm up from the end of the tap, where the water comes out?
It might have a filter. Hold tap tight & unscrew this last bit. Rinse. Replace.
I swear our plumber hated our poncy tap, & deliberately filled it with rubbish. It dribbled, pathetically. I nearly had it removed & replaced, & by chance came upon this filter. Worked rather too well after that & OH complained of it splashing his trousers :D
