Radiator valve stuck on!

There's plenty of tips regarding freeing up a thermostatic radiator valve that's stuck off, but couldn't find anything regarding one that's stuck on. I've taken the knurled top off, and the pin isn't going to move even with a gentle hammer on a bit of wood. Any tips please?

Draining the system is not a 10 minute job with a combination boiler. I need a quick fix for now so I can take the radiator off the wall.0

I used a bit of WD40 and a screwdriver to get the pin moving. It's quite stiff so requires a bit of playing with. I also used pliers as well to move it up and down.:footie:

Try a larger adjusting tool.
If your are removing the rad don't forget to put the decorators cap on the valve when you've freed it.

When I had this and I couldn't free it by tapping the pin I was covered by a service plan, the guy simply slackened off the nut surrounding the pin (Danfoss) then tightened it job done in 20seconds.0

That done it roddy, held most of the water back, enough to get some PTFE on the other joint - thanks. When I had this and I couldn't free it by tapping the pin I was covered by a service plan, the guy simply slackened off the nut surrounding the pin (Danfoss) then tightened it job done in 20seconds.0
