Annoying! Why do sellers do this?

I am talking about the new trend of buying everything in Primark, and then putting it on Ebay for more than they were on sale for in the first place.
I'm all for using your initiative, but I think this is just selfish
And as for those sellers who put "rare" or "sold out" in the title, only for me to go into primark, and see about 300 of that item. I wouldn't dream of interfering in an auction, but people are buying these at higher prices, when they could just g o and get it in store cheaper!

Wow. I may incorporate rare and sold out into my auctions if it helps. I think it's just daft if people do not search the internet for the items at other retailers first. If I had words to make a day for you,
I'd sing you a morning golden and new.

Why not buy an item in a sale then try to sell it for more than you paid for it? Are you meant to cancel bids if the price goes above what you originally paid for it?
If people can't be bothered to search further than ebay for a bargain then thats up to them. To be honest Iv'e heard people rave about Primark but Iv'e never seen a Primark store in all my travels. If I wanted to shop at Primark and they didn't have a site then ebay would be the obvious place to buy such items. :heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -

Why is it selfish? nearly everthing you buy in the shops costs more than what it cost in the first place!
As for why there might be a market for such goods:
Not everywhere has a Primark store.
Not every Primark store carries the same item.
Not everybody is physically able to go shopping/has the time to go shopping.

Yes, I know about mark ups...but. I do live near a Primark, and it galls me when items sell out because people go in and buy a job lot 0f 30 or 40 of the same item, so no one else can actually buy it, unless they pay over the odds through ebay.
That's all.
And it's not like you can check the prices on the web, as Primark don't have an internet site with their goods on.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
You snooze you lose, I'm afraid.
It's all about supply and demand. These guys will probably become unstuck at some stage. Remember the Hunt brothers and the silver market?0 -
Oh dear, I feel guilty now as I sold an old book with 2/6d on the cover for £6 and I think (it was a while ago now) that I even had rare in the title..I can't work out my mark up on that one!
We all buy items and sell at a higher price so I can't see the problem. I admire those with the head for business who can spot a trend, like the recent H and M Stella Macartney items and buy them up and sell on ebay, that's what business enterprise is all about.

this is the second post in a matter of days about buying at a low price at one company and re-selling on ebay. Why are some people moaning about this? It's just good business sense!!!

At the end of the day, people sell on ebay to make money. If nobody was making money, then I'm sure nobody would sell items on there. It's like anything - houses, cars, etc, it doesn't matter what the true value is really, it's what someone is willing to pay.
