Prepaid cash cards that are accepted in Germany

I have a Caxtonfx Mastercard cash card and went to Germany last year and had a few problems with it being accepted .

I would like some advise as to the best cash card to use in Germany .

We are going to Bavaria this year and think it may be more fussy on cards that other areas of Germany.

Usually anything visa are well accepted.

I am not aware of any particular problems in Germany, other than more places than here not taking cards of any sort.

Anywhere that displays the Visa or Mastercard logo should accept the whole card range which includes Visa Debit/Debit Mastercard. No card should provide you with any problems (as long as it's Visa/Mastercard branded), if anything I imagine it was a problem with the merchants processing systems rather then your card.

It all depends on what you want to do. Irrespective of whether it is MC or Visa, certain transactions will fail at the first hurdle. My attempt at card hire from Sixt at Munich airport was a case in point. Pre-pay cards do not give a line of accessable credit, as once the credit is exhausted the firm can call on funds. There are other wrinkles, like not being able to withdraw cash over the counter, but OK from ATM's all make it an onforgettable experience!
