Looking for adventurous holiday involving spotting wildlife?

Hi I am looking for an adventurous holiday involving wildlife spotting of some kind. I am mainly interested in mammals, so not so much birds or anything really small. I would love to go to India, but all the tours I've found so far have been really expensive. I have a budget of about £2K for the whole holiday, including flights and spending money.
Is there anything any of you guys could recommend? It doesn't have to be India, it could be anywhere so long as it's in budget.
Naturally coming to you guys I'm hoping I can get an idea of how to get the best bang for my buck.

I've never been there but I imagine Madagascar or Galapagos Islands would be wonderful places for the sort of thing you are interested in.0

If you're after mammals, wouldn't the African game reserves be an obvious starting point?
How long do you want to go for?
I've used this lot before and found them good, although you do need to check if there's any local payments on top of the tour price.

Or have a look at tucan travel

Pedant alert - it's could have not could of.0 -
Going on a tour is not adventurous, and most things in India are ridiculously cheap. Just go there and negotiate good prices for trips to the regions that interest you.0
