Default from Joint British Gas Account
My friend asnd i lived together a couple of years ago and when we moved out of our shared property we had our large gas bill to pay. We couldnt pay it and we agreed a payment plan with their debt colltions agency. The account was in both our names. Payments have beeen made until sept '11. I had to cancel payments from Sept '11 and they wrote to me to say that I needed to re set up a direct debit. I caleld the agency and did it over the phone. Now it looks like they haveny processed it and my friend now has 2 defaults in their name.
If its not their fault, can the default be transfered to me instead?

if the account is joint, both of you will receive defaults. If you keep on doing what's you've always done, you'll keep on being what you've always been...:think:0

As above, you shouldnt of let it get to dca as if you had set a plan up with bg they would of been a little more forgivingDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

You are both jointly and severally liable for the entire debt.
The creditor is not interested in how the debt is divided between you, that is a 3rd party matter. No free lunch, and no free laptop
