Are things a bit erratic here just now? Loading speed/smoothness?

Got a couple of issues with the site tonight.
It seems to be a tad erratic with regards to page loading speed. It swings from being ok to quite slow.
Also instead of opening smoothly, certain pop up boxes load jerkily as if they are loading line by line but not all at the same speed.
I clicked on a member's name for example, to look at other posts of theirs and that opened in a jerky manner.
I then went to a couple of other sites but all seems fine elsewhere so I'm assuming it's something here.
Anyone else got this?

Yes, I've had some strange goings on since last night.;)
I can't get the extended list of smilies to open anymore, it stops at this green toothy grin smiley ->:D10 Dec 2007 - Led Zeppelin - I was there. :j :cool2: I wear my 50 (gold/red/white) blood donations pin badge with pride. Give blood, save a life. 0 -
Also, I'm on the stretchy width version...when I click on a thread, the page opens really wide for a second or so (so much so that the sidebar on the right is not visible) before 'snapping' back to the usual stretchy width size (complete with sidebar).
Nothing works nicely any more. It's all glitchy all over the place. Sad >Herman - MP for all!0 -
Anyone else got this?
Indeed - since sometime yesterday. It's also coupled with an increased font size.
My eyesight isn't complaining .... but it's a bit like reading a kiddie's book. The zoom size on my monitor is as it ever was .... and it's only this site where the font is uncharacteristically large. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
Awful tonight.I made a mistake once, believeing people on the internet were my virtual friends. It won't be a mistake that I make again!0

I'm not having any persistent problems with the site, just the odd occasional one when the page hangs and pages crashing. But then it is around the same time that I upgraded both, the firefox and IE. So I am guessing it is the browsers giving me problems. Or a case that whatever features this site is using isn't quite compatible or upto date with the latest browser upgrades. Or may be simply some teething problems.0

I have the latest Firefox 10.02. Not had any problems. Could it be an add on issue?0

Oh my. Are you all fiddling this morning?
Worse than ever. Top of the page loads then hangs for a while before the actual body of posts appears.
Top lot of posts show but then the bottom of the page looks like a sheet of lined paper for a bit before the rest of the thread loads.
Everything is still jerky.
Are you just trying to force us to use the fixed width version?

I'm glad it's not just me having slow load times with the forums.0

I'm still finding that pages hang when opening. As the new forum is coming is anything being done about it?
Talking of the new forum, when exactly is is coming? It's been saying "We're switiching next week" for several weeks now.0 -

It's horrible isn't it? Nothing works properly anymore.
I'd love to think it will all be fixed but I suspect 'stretchy' issues are way down the list of priorities for the Team.Herman - MP for all!0
