PPI on mortgages?

Nit sure if I'm right on this or just a little nieve, but with a mortgage being a "large loan" can I assume that PPI could be paid on a mortgage?

If so is the process of claiming back PPI the same as with smaller bank loans?

    Why assume? Cant you tell? wouldn't the monthly direct debit from your current account give it away?

    Could you afford to pay for your mortgage if you didnt have this 'PPI' if say you lost your job or something drastic
    make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
    and we will never, ever return.
