hi everyone
just a little quick question - my dad had a loan with HSBC and more than a year ago he tried to claim ppi back. he took it to the financial ombudsman filled out the forms and he had a telephone call aking lots of questions and of course as expected he didnt get anything back. im just wondering now it has all gone to court and they banks have lost is it worth trying again or are we just those unlucky people that do not get anything!!

All the courts did was to tell the banks they must deal with certain complaints. As yours has already gone to FOS and been rejected, that decision stands.
You could, in theory, go to court yourself. However, it is unlikely that it would reach a decision that is more favourable to you.0 -

Just verifying what magpiecottage said as correct so you know its not just from one source. The court case wasnt about the rights and wrongs. It was about which complaints the banks could not deal with and those they should. You could, in theory, go to court yourself. Especially as the PPI is largely an FSA thing and not a legal issue.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
