    Don't do it!

I would only ever buy very small things from a new seller.

I know people have to start their feedback score somewhere, but most of us learn the ropes by selling little bits and then build up from there. Anyone starting with a £500 item is almost certain to be a scammer.
Oh dear, here we go again.

You would still bid even though you've been warned???

Don't ever trust paypal especially for that amount of money

Only your credit card company can confirm that 100%.

Assuming you still bid despite overwhelming advice to avoid this auction, and your goods do not arrive, you'll then have several weeks delay while paypal wheels grind very slowly trying to resolve this with the seller. Then if paypal cannot resolve the matter you'll have several more weeks waiting while your credit card company try and shake you off. paypal also warn buyers that anyone doing a credit card chargeback 'might' get their paypal account shut down..personally where money is involved I am prepared to lose my paypal account rather than lose money, but it is still a lot of hassle.

The question you need to ask yourself is are you prepared to go against ebay's own advice about safe buying re checking sellers feedback etc? If so, are you then prepared to be out of pocket for several months while you fill out forms trying to get your money back if it all goes wrong/

As a word of caution - in the last couple of weeks I bid and won some books for my daughter on a sellar with O feedback - the paypal payment was pending for ages. I email and email and got nothing in the end I cancelled the payment and reported them - just in case I got negative feedback later ( a precaution ) 2 other people won items on same day and either has got the items.

This was only total £4.00 but it meant my daughter lost out on revision last week as we wanted the books for that purpose. We only lost time but you would be mad to bid on the item at that price with a new sellar. regardless of if they assure you

Is no one else selling the same item - cant be a one off unless its hand made.

PLease, please listen to the more experienced people on this board - THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT AND HAVE MORE KNOWLEDGE ON THE GOOD & BAD OF EBAY.
Thanks to everyone who posts comps :T
