Whirlpool dishwasher

I have a whirlpool dishwasher built in to my kitchen, but although it fills, heats and drains, it does not seem to go through a cycle or wash the dishes. Any suggestions (it is out of warranty)

Can anyone help, my Baxi back boiler runs my central heating and hot water, the problem I have is that although I have turned the temperature down the hot water is almost boiling when it comes out of the taps and at night the tank is "kettling", this even happens when the hot water is turned off!
I am dreading the thought of having to get a new boiler, as this would mean a lot of disruption, mess and expense. Any thoughts please?0
