Help with converting Readings to KWh

Options
Just checked my readings and compared with 12 months ago but I am struggling to figure out the conversion to KWh for a switch over.

The usage for Gas is 6582

and Electricity is 1979

My gas meter indicates it is a m3 reading and the electricity single Watt Hours. No idea of that is therefore a straight 1.979 Kwh, doesnt seem like a lot.

Thanks for your help

As a fairly accurate measure you can multiply metric units by 11.2 to convert to kwh.

If you really really have used that amount of gas it equals 73718 kwh which would cost about £3000.

At a guess you have taken the reading wrong, unless you live in Buckingham Palace.

    Your electric is quite low.

Gas-are you sure that is your units used, or your current reading?-not the same thing!
Electricity: one meter unit is 1kWh-no conversion is necessary.

  • I did wonder, i phoned Eon and they told me my opening reading was 33218 and 10471, currently 39800 and 12450. I live an a 4 bed detached house and pay by instalments at the rate of £128. I guess they could have the readings wrong for the opening balance?

I suggest you look at your own bills to check.

It seems I had the fuel to reading swapped. So gas is 1979 m3 and Electric 6582.

    Gas cv = 1.022645 and calval = 40.1

Why so high on the electricity? Gas not abnormal, around 22,000kWh.
