Hi,
My friend is looking to go camping with her family and has asked me about Haven Lakeland. I have been but I was in a caravan and have no idea what the camping bit was like. Her children are 4 and 1, I think they would enjoy the Lake District as there was plenty to do and see.

I love MSE freebies and comps. Thanks posters

Hi, we have been - but many years ago. I suggest you try the ukcampsite.co.uk website and have a look at the reviews. I would say though that if your friend is looking for peace and quiet its best not to go in the main school holidays! Haven are not known for their quiet, peaceful campsites and I cant imagine the Lakelands one is any different.0

We were just about to book there - some superb offers - but like YORKSHIRELASS we always check on ukcampsite first.

The thing is with Haven is that you can get some incredibly cheap deals early season. We go to our nearest Haven for a weekend every May/June and have never paid more than £10 a night for the four of us including entertainment passes. We go because our kids love it so much and we always keep an open mind and dont expect to get much sleep. This is especially true if the weather is good which means they will get really busy and pack you in so you feel like you are at Glastonbury!
If I paid full price and went for my main holiday I would be devastated but for a cheap weekend when you know what you are going to get its OK.0 -
ive stayed at lakeland about 3 years ago in a caravan and we visited relatives who brought their own tent on the camping field at lakeland. The field itself is overgrown and uneven, the toilet block was grubby and a bit drab. It may have been updated since then, check it out but otherwise I wouldn't want to camp there myself.:eek:0
