Help needed for planning bedroom

Am in the process of converting the spare room into a bedroom for my daughter. It has no furniture. We can visualise how the room will look like but am not sure how much space we have to play with regarding bed and wardrobe etc.
One option we have is draw the plan view of the bedroom to a small scale on paper. Then get a cardboard and cut out the size of bed and wardrobe she prefers and position it on the floor plan and fiddle with it.
Is there a free software/CAD package or does any D.I.Y website offers a feature where you can input your room size and type of bed/wardrobe you like and it will show it as a 3D image?
Have found a feature in Homebase website where you can visualise how a room looks like with a certain paint colour or wallpaper.
