Sorry to be blunt, but you are getting £11k and your asking about JSA?

I can understand you wanting to know about tax credits, but mortagage payments wqont change as far as i know and you wont be able to claim JSA unless its redundancy, as it is voluntary and £11k would have to be declared to benefits agency.

Surely you wil find another job by the time 11K runs out?

If someone is accepted for Contribution based JSA they are entitled to up to 6 months JSA whatever their savings.

So even though the OP gets over £11,000 she can still claim benefits?

    Weird!?!

Yes because they have paid their national insurance contributions. However, they MAY get a sanction (and to be honest, it is hardly ever the full 6 months) if they are deemed to have left voluntarily. There was another poster on here who was being bullied at work and who was considering signing a compromise agreement. It would depend on what the employer stated whether there would be a sanction BUT you have the right of appeal against any such decision. Any JSA(IB) would look at savings, but conts based doesn't as it is based on the contributions made and is fixed for a maximum period of 26 weeks.

so my understanding is, as wording of agreement is set to redunceney
i should claim contribution job seekers allowance
also i will recieve child tax credit
    and recieve hb/ct
therefore inform working tax as soon as employment date ceases by agreement, or as ive been paid 6 months pay after that?

went on ww.entitledto...said i would get £83.20 PER WEEK CHILD TAX
and help with rent paid/ ct?????

sorry if i sound vaugue but dont want to inform and do wrong etc, enougth stress at this time

    thanks

Emilie, why not just go to the DSS office and give them all your details and they will tell you what you can claim?

If the termination of employment is genuine redundancy, then provided you have made enough contributions, you should be able to get JSA for (I think) six months.

You're only getting yourself all stressed out trying to guess what you'll be entitled to - just go and ask them, they won't bite.
    :D I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe :D
