NetMeter message problem

I'm after some help/advice please folks
I have recently downloaded the Netmeter program, to try and measure my actual broadband usage, I wasn't happy with Netmeter so I deleted the program via control panel > programs etc
now is where the problems start, I'm not sure whether this happened when I originally downloaded NetMeter or since I deleted the program
however every time I log on or shut down my laptop, I get a warning type message, when I shut down my lap top It won't actually let me shut down till I close the message,
the message being
Access Viloation at address 004047C in module 'NetMeter.exe' read of address 002D003D
is there any way I can get rid of this message, I've looked through my laptop and can't find any trace of the original program
any help/advice on removing this annoying message would be appreciated, thanks

What OS are you using? Windows XP/Vista/7?0

Right click on an empty spot of the taskbar and select Start Task Manager.
Next, select the Processes tab.
Click the Image Name header to sort alphabetically.
Any reference to NetMeter.exe in here?
If yes, highlight it and click End Process.
Following this...
Click on the Start button and type MSCONFIG. Under Programs select msconfig.
Next, select the Startup tab.
Check this list, any reference to NetMeter.exe?
If yes, uncheck it and close the dialogue saving changes.
It seems that the application may still be starting an running - this should fix for the time being.0 -
I created this short screencast to show you the above. I don't have NetMeter but killed off some other stuff.
