Having a new kitchen fitted next week - Gloss Cream Shaker with a Mid Walnut block worktop.
Havn't picked flooring yet but think I might go with Laminate (unsure what colour!)
My question is Tiles on wall! Originally, I didn't want tiles as I thought they were old fashioned and I wanted to go with the modern look but now am unsure what to get. The window cill would look better removed and tiled, thats why I am now thinking of that.
The kitchen is North facing with not a lot of light (L shape) so there would only be 2 walls to do.
Is it really old fashioned? Was thinking of really plain - maybe cream "brick shape. What does everyone think?

No of course its not old fashioned. Wouldn't go fo cream if you've got cream doors and drawers - it'll be too samey. But keep it relatively neutral perhaps with a few bolder coloured tiles spread around (apparently) indiscriminately.
