Platinum reclaim??

Has any one heard of a company called Platinum Reclaim? The called me today asking if they could deal with my PPI claims, said they were authorized by the Ministry of Justice. I did a little research and couldn't find them on the Ministry of Justice's authorized company list. I suspect they are a scam company as they said they would need a £300 payment up front, however this would refunded should any monies due not be received by myself within 8weeks. I never gave any bank details to them neither did i give them any money, only details i did give them was of who my previous loan lenders were and the amounts that i had taken out. They then proceeded to tell me, after running a check, that i would be guaranteed a minimum payment of £4550!!! I did wonder how with so little details they could come up with this amount. Anyway has any body had any dealings with them or even heard of them? Are they even legitimate? Thoughts please.
Cheers

1. If you were missold PPI you can easily claim yourself
2. My dog could be authorised by the MoJ
3. Cold callers asking for money in exchange for a larger amount of money is attempting some take on Advanced Fee Fraud
4. 100% of cold callers are scams0 -

The average payout on PPI is closer to £1200. However, the less reputable claims companies tend to blow the amount up to a much higher figure to try and appeal to your greed. Unless you told them the amount of your PPI payments and had a good complaint reason then they shouldnt be talking figures really. They certainly shouldnt be guaranteeing anything as they have no power to do so.I did wonder how with so little details they could come up with this amount.
I cannot possibly comment about your phone call but I suggest you look up advance fee fraud. Or watch an episode of Hustle. You know where they play to the greed of the mark by indicating there will be some big pay off but to get it they have to pay a smaller amount first. if that sounds familiar to your experience then you can make your own mind up.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). They are a total scam company, there is no way they could know what you are due without first contacting your loan provider. They asked for for 400 pounds, i asked the woman who said she was a financial advisor and told me that platinum reclaims were subsidised by the government to help people reclaim miss old PPI. I asked her if she thought i was zipped up the back and did she really think id give her 400 without any contract or documentation. If people fall for this cold calling asking for money then they only have themselves to blame. would you give some random stranger who turns up at your door step claiming they can help you 400 with no assurances?? No of course you wouldn't0
