New To Comps, What site do you use?

You would be hard pushed to enter every competition posted on here.. there are THAT MANY... You're best bet is start with this site and see how you get on. If using several sites you need to be careful you don't enter the same comp more than once (depending on t&c's) or you can disqualify yourself altogether... The good thing with this one is you just press the thanks button and the enter button and you know you have entered the competition. Plus this site is MUCH freindlier, you won't get the same vibe on other sites I can assure you :-) but no offence you did kinda post an ironic question.. :-)

To be fair (and assuming that the OP is not here trolling or on some kind of wind up) these forums can be quite daunting and hard to understand to newbies.
I often get asked by friends how I win so much...so I direct them here....then they don't have a clue how to go about finding/entering the comps on here. Even people who I would consider computer literate and internet savvy have struggled.

Also if they've arrived here via google/searching or similar and it brings them straight to IWIWIW...they may not realise how extensive the comping section is on MSE.

I have the same thing happen here - unless your MSE savvy half the people I explain it to cant even find the competition board. x

as someone who uses both and isn't biased in any way ,
loquax has many comps its very easy to click on link and enter but (there is no help and support)
mse , all very friendly people and they even go out of their way to help and support you and there is appreciation when you win

I started out comping using that site. I think it's still on. Don't know if that prolific poster is still there though :eek: and there was one called Skani (something) who abused everyone :rotfl:Those were the days

Silly question to ask as you'll get partisan answers - we get them on Loquax too (*disclamer* as owner) - and it's often hard to be diplomatic.

Just to clarify.. we don't list spammy sites (or at least try and avoid them as best possible) and we don't use this site to do our work.

We don't do answers but then we're more categorised. The forum is also part of the site rather than the site.

We try and do right by our users and in the comping world (e.g. automated entries). It won't be for everyone... and I appreciate some people on here have a real dim view of the site/me/anyone who uses it. Not nice, but I'll survive.

Either way horses for courses... but most importantly enjoy comping where ever you are. What I've found is most people are pretty much the same on whichever site you go.

Welcome to the site. As I have only been comping on here since November 2011 I consider myself a Newbie as well. This is a good site and with so many competitions on here you really do not have time to do competitions on other sites. I get a lot of follow up from the these competition promoters on my Facebook so I occasionally do competitions on Facebook as well. I am still finding my way around the site and getting used to shortcuts on how to call up competitions that end soon. Still have a lot to learn. The people on here are very friendly and we give each other help and support. When you read of other people winning it gives you a boost as well and keeps you motivated. Good Luck with your comping, I hope you win loads.
