Hi there, recently, i applied for a natwest current account over the phone and got accepted. I had all the current accounts offered to me.

Before that, i applied for santander in branch, which got rejected, halifax and barclays online for the their current accounts and got rejected, this was BEFORE, i applied for natwest current account over the phone.

My question is, isn't that a bit weird, santander/halifax/barclays all declined for their current accounts but got accepted for natwest?

Also, has anyone got natwest's silver current account? Is it a good account for the price?

18, earn 800 p/m must of applied for live 10 - 15 credit products in the space of 2 and half months which probably explains why i got rejected for the above accounts. :o

Did you get an instant decline from halifax/barclays online after the application?

as you say could be down to the amount of searches you have done...

nope, got the usual will get back to you message. Must of looked at my file and see the searches and said "Send him the REJECTION LETTER!" :rotfl:

I'll wait this time next year before reapplying for anything else.

got hsbc from 3 years, and now natwest and lloyds so that's probably enough accounts for me. :D

Got Vanquis and just got accepted for cap1 secured card, so i think this is enough for me to build up some history.

I have a feeling you may have the "CREDIT RESTRICTED" version of the Select Silver account.

I would ask them to confirm which version you have with them.

It means you will not be able to get any lending on the account for example a cheque book or overdraft.

Ahh ok, hmm hopefully this isn't the case. Mind you, i was asked if i was interested in getting an overdraft i said sure, but couldn't get one at the time. Said try back in three months time.

Thanks stclair for your help, deeply appreciate it

Just checked. It will let me add it to my list, but I didn't go any further. The blurb says DVDs and videos. You can upgrade to a better package and they will use your silver select benefit as a 5.99 credit.

    You also get HMV downloads.
