Barclaycard Rejection..grr

Well, i got my letter yesterday and as i had suspected when i phoned them on Monday, it was a rejection
What really annoyed me was, they took all the reasons i shouldn't have PPI, highlighted my reasons but then just totally disregarded them and said "..the process required you to select specific type of cover required. In this case, you positively selected the product"
... but no evidence to support that and seeing as i was self employed and i had even stated that i assumed that the cover was complusory it was still wasn't followed up.
I felt the whole letter is a total 'fob-off' and i don't think they had even considered my points in any way, totally annoyed.
They then went on to say that that would be there last response, final!
Hmmm.. what a con.. not at all happy, i wonder in the FOS will take it a different way perhaps?
Well, regardless, thats where i'm going next.
Not amused.
Still waiting for my MNBA letter which was upheld... at least thats some good news.
I bet also that my two Egg cards will be rejections as well seeing as they are both with Barclaycard now!!
Anyone else had any luck with Barclaycard lately? WOuld love to hear any stories.

I was rejected by MBNA (Virgin) last week, it was there first and final response! As I had applied online, they stated I ticked the box and therefore accepted, not amused so it's now with the FOS - no doubt that may drag on for a while
I received a letter on Saturday for my Egg (complaint with Barclay card) saying that they are looking into it and should have a decision now later than 15th March, I'm quite hopeful about this response, going by what I've read on here, I'm tempted to call but not sure I can face the disappointment today! 0 -

What was your evidence to support your allegations?
What you thought doesnt matter. Your assumption it was compulsory is not grounds for complaint.i wonder in the FOS will take it a different way perhaps?
The FOS will look at your evidence. Look at theirs and largely disregard allegations that are not proven and decide from there. As I had applied online, they stated I ticked the box and therefore accepted, not amused so it's now with the FOS
So what was your reason for complaint? It sounds (on very limited information) that you mis-bought rather than being mis-sold.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). My reason was simple, the application would not proceed online without ticking one of 3 options, also the PPI box was already ticked, I assumed it was a must!0 -

pre-ticking is frowned upon and the FOS typically go with the consumer on this basis. The FOS will ask them the process they used and decide if it was fair or not.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Hmmm..interesting thought actually, maybe it was mis-brought than mis-sold.
I applied for the card via post as it was the late 90's. At the time I didn't even know what PPI was I just assumed it compulsory, probably my mistake.
I think I only found out what PPI was for just recently.0 -

Hi melon moon!
Funny that MBNA upheld my complaint when they are turning others down!
My egg complaints are also in with Barclaycard, I bet I will get turned down again we will see! Should get an answer soon but also applied for those online.
Thanks for the post.0 -

The firms tend to operate a floor limit style process where they auto payout on small value complaints when they have a backlog rather than investigate them. When its quieter or the value is potentially above their threshold, they will investigate them in more depth.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I am having a similar issue with Barclays. They stated that I 'positively confirmed' PPi online. When did you make your application?0
