Towel Rails - good or bad?

Hi all,
Im after a towel rail. Ive seen they cost quite a bit in B&Q, HomeBase etc... But in my local discount store they are about £45. They look pretty much identical to the more expensive ones. Could this be a false economy? Maybe the cheap ones take longer to heat up and so use more electricity?
Thanks

Cheap and nasty stuff in your discount store probably not much less cheap and nasty as those in the sheds. Poorly manufactured, probably full of rust before it even left the factory in China, do the tails up just a tad too tight and it will split - need I go on? The only advantage that the discount store has is that they don't try and pretend they are good quality not attach fancy prices at enormous margins.
Oh sorry - you said electric. Electric oil filled are electric oil filled. It won't take any longer to heat the oil up in a cheap one as it does in an expensice one on a volume equivalent basis. Whether the beastie trasmits heat any better is a different question entirely as it will depend on the quality of the metal. The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has it's limits. - Einstein0 -
