disable UPnP on my router?

in Techie Stuff
me again! i have been told to disable the UPnP setting on my wireless modem/router. will this cause my internet to slown down in any way? will it prevent me doing anything in particular like downloading files? thanks as always folks

Go into the router's web configuration screen and turn it off. It won't affect your connection speed etc.
If you don't know how to access it, open a command prompt window and enter:
ipconfig
The IP address shown as the default gateway is your router. Enter that address in the address bar of your browser, e.g. 192.168.0.1.0
