Yorkshire Bank Ready Cash

I have a feeling that I am going to be turned down for citi. Had enough of halifax and am currently about to start reclaiming charges from them.

Not interested in Natwest or Coop with their Solo and electron cards have had these before and to me they are as useless as a chocolate fireguard.

The next best option I can see is going to be the yorkshire bank ready cash account with the maestro card.

I dont have a gret credit history but certainly not the worst, 2 defaults one settled and one partially settled which should show as settled and I am in the process of getting this updated. I miss credit card payments on a regular basis but only for one month, and I am slightly over my limit on a couple of cards at the moment. im really just very unorganised.

So is there a credit check/ criteria for Yorkshire and this account? Has anyone ever been turned down for it if so why? Is it really just as simple as walking in the branch with id opening the account and then getting the card a few days later.

    Hi,

i've been and opened a Readycash a/c at my local Yorkshire Bank today and it was a breeze. The advisor told me they only do a bankruptcy search for this type of account, which is good because my credit rating is dire.

I just took in some ID (passport), a few utility bills and some proof of my income and the whole process took about 45 mins. I left with my account number. Easy Peasy!!

    Good Luck!!!

also now using yorkshire no problems at all.

I wonder if the people that are making these comments, are just !!!!ed off with yorkshire because they owe them money, or reclaiming their bank charges is not going as smoothly as they thought.

I did wonder too s1h. I think it depends on what kind of experience you have had with them.

There are bigger rip off merchants out there than Yorkshire Bank, definatley!

I opened my Yorkshire Bank Readycash account last Tuesday and paid in a cheque the day after. This morning I received my Maestro card, and my cheque had been cleared (4 working days). Friendly service, I can speak to my own branch if I need to over the phone (could never do that with Nastywest) - best move I ever made.
