I've had a quick google search but can't find out if I get the maximum £50 cashback out when I pay for my groceries in Sains/Asda etc whether it counts towards the cashback earned?

Do you mean cashback (like Amex) or cash advance (ie withdawing cash)?
If the first, yes, you'll earn cashback. If the second, you can't get cash advances at the till.0 -
Santander offer 1% on supermarket purchases.
2% on department stores (how do you define a department store, beyond the few examples they give?)
3% on fuel stations.
BUT a £24 yearly charge. I get my family to use mine whenever they go.0 -
Shops offer cashback to customers paying with debit card. Most (if not all*) shops do not offer cashback to customers paying by credit card.teapackets wrote: »I've had a quick google search but can't find out if I get the maximum £50 cashback out when I pay for my groceries in Sains/Asda etc whether it counts towards the cashback earned?

* - it's been mentioned in these forums that Wilkinsons will do cashback on a credit card but I've never tried it

Cashback in the sense they give you cash works with a debit card, not credit card.
Depending on the credit card you have, you may earn a percentage back on what you actually spend.0 -
I think the OP is asking about a card that gives you cashback on purchases (eg. I have a Capital One, and have got £100 back for my purchases over the past couple of months).
I think that the question is if you take out cash at the supermarket checkout, do you get cashback on that as if it was a purchase?
If so, that is down to the particular card's T&Cs.0 -
Thank you, I didn't make the connection that cash back at till is only available with a debit card!0
