can you move a toilet to another position?

my dd wants to put a bath where the toilet is and move the toilet elsewhere. is this impossible, impractical or would it just cost a lot to do?

It depends on where your sewer stack is now in relation to the existing toilet, and where it would be compared with where you want to move it to.

I had my soil pipe moved back about 6" because modern loos sit further forward compared to older ones. It required lots of excavation of concrete and cost a fair few hundred pounds. I guess it depends on the floor type, and the nature of the soil stack, in which case you'd have to get some quotes.

What is dd? Lots of people use these abbreviations and they totally lose me.

£1,684.63. But seriously - no idea. As other poster says need rather a lot more detail than you've provided thus far.

Sometimes its easier, quicker, less disruptive and just as aesthetically pleasing to move the wall forward - build a box, plasterboard and tile to match.

    dd-dear daughter...

It won't cost too much to move it in the same room. It depends if you have concrete floor or if the bathroom is upstairs and you have wooden floor and can have the soil stack going on a short angle for a short distance.

As keystone says, you can lay the new toilet discharge pipe as close as possible to the wall to connect with the old connection, and then box in that area. I would only form a new "wall" to about 1.2m in height, then put the bath against that. The top of the box-in then forms a shelf, which you can tile etc, and you don't lose out on the overall size of the bathroom.

This assumes that you've got enough floor space to accommodate the bath a bit further out.

Which wall is is it currently on and which wall do you want to move it to? What distance away?
Generally WC's are most easily sited on the external wall, for easy access to the soil stack.
Running the supply pipe around is the easier part.

I when i redesigned the bathroom the toilet was moved by about 2" and it was more trouble than it was worth. Still it looks good now that it's done properly.

we need more info to give any sort of decent reply.
moving it in the same room (upstairs) is fairly easy.
when you move it into another room, it can become difficult and expensive. esp with a concrete floor.
if you move it to another side of the house, itll be expensive to install a new soil pipe, and maybe even a new drain to connect up to the existing drain.
    Get some gorm.

You could use a Saniflo toilet waste macerator pump and you would not have to mess aroud moving the soil down pipe and you can put the toilet where you want
