When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important

Morning guys  yay for Friday :j Going to work super hard & make the day speed through (and then do all I can to prolong the weekend!)

Very happy that I managed to get to the gym yesterday  although it was hard after so long of not going!

So today:
  • check banking
  • do VSP & update sig
  • brekkie, lunch & dinner from stores - Halloumi couscous for tea
  • freeze rest of Halloumi
  • quick shower in a minute
  • walk to work?
  • check onepoll & read book in lunch break
  • LSD
  • take meter readings
  • Mrs Flylady this evening - am very impressed as have done it all week and looks like I won't need to do any housework over the weekend
  • go for a swim and a sauna after work

Ok that's all for me. Happy Friday everyone x

    • Doing some more yoga coursework to keep me out of trouble
    • Knitting a tea cosy - cheapo bday pressie ;)
    • Doing a meal plan and going to @sda

Good morning one and all, many thanks for starting the thread.

I must have another look at the Flylady thingy, I tried it years ago and I always have a spotless kitchen sink, the only habit I picked up but nothing else seems to have stuck!

In answer to your question what is the 500? I am trying to change my career, having been made redundant twice in the last couple of years, I don't really want to go back to what I was doing. I hated it anyway. So I've taken up writing. I have one book on the go and another planned out. Please don't judge me on the quality of any posts on the site :o Here I tend to write as I think - messy:)! I have a minimum target of 500 words a day.

    But onwards with todays list:

    • Do the 500
    • Look at Flylady again
    • All meals from stores
    • Do finances and update spreadsheet
    • Look for work
    • Perhaps peg a few bits of washing out, lightweight things might dry today

That's all I can think of right now.

  • Morning all :)
Boo to it being the last day of half term. Where has that time all gone? Cannot believe my week off work has flown over like this. Still, I'm going to make the most of today and not even think about work:

    My list:
    check bank
    update vsp
Go into town and take back dress I bought which is too small
Pick up my wedding ring (already paid for)
    Visit my sister
    washing done and on airer
flylady level 3 (and oh does my bathroom need that today)

Think that's all for now. Have a good day everyone!

Piquant - lol re the judgement! No judging on thei thread please - just support! lol

Perni don't go the the SM for broccoli - make do & substitute and save the cash

    opps didn't drive to work...
