ideal logic plus boiler

HI. I am baffled now, have had 3 people come around and quote me for a new boiler, moving it up stairs, but directly above. I'm still awaiting quotes, but 2 of the 3 have recommended the ideal logic plus, acknowledged their previous boilers being rubbish, but reckon these one's are the mutts nuts! The other bloke openly laughed at the sight of the ideal brochure on my kitchen bench and said he would fit whatever I wanted, but would not recommend them at all. SUggested veissman. SO, the ideal logic plus with some fancy wireless console? DEal or no deal?
ANy advice appreciated, so long as Its based on fact!

  • each engineer will have his own perfered make of boiler & like someone else said on another thread you could get 10 engineers to quote & they may all have a different recommendation,

the first two you meantioned are correct the old ideals (icos & isar) were terrible boilers aways breaking down (even straight out of the box), but the logic seems to be a much better boiler (only time will tell),

i have never fitted a veissman although i have heard good reports about them through the merchants.

like i said everyone has different views so for what it's worth my recomendation is below, been fitting them for 7 years & only had one call back that the service company sorted out for me.

I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.
  • Hi there, here is my experience with Ideal: Fitted lots of Classics in the past and then got my fingers burnt with the Ideal Icos and Isar range. Switched to Worcester and Baxi but found that they were not brilliant either. Got tempted back 2 years ago by an Ideal rep and haven't looked back. Have installed in excess of 180 Logic boilers since. The only problems I ever had were: 1 faulty thermistor, 2 noisy pressure gauges and a few frozen condensate pipes last winter - which really wasn't Ideal's fault - have since only terminated condensate pipes inside the houses. In short, Ideal seemed to have turned the corner and talking to a few other plumbing mates they have only had good experiences with the Logic. If you get one, get a Logic Plus one with a 5 year warranty for peace of mind. Difference is minimal. Hope this is of help.
