Custom sized external doors

I have a garage attached to my back garden, I wish to install a door on the rear of the garage to allow access without having to go into the street.
The garage is of an abnormal height, i'd need a door of around 6ft-6ft10 tall (Preferable 6ft else i'll have to cut down below the damp course to fit it in).
I've searched online, what a complete waste of time that was...
The first 4 pages of results come up, but due to keyword planting on the websites, they don't actually do custom sized doors and often don't give any pricing details (if you have to ask etc)
I could buy one full size and modify it myself, but all the results again don't bring up any reasonable prices (im NOT paying £600 for a door to chop up).
It's the usual websearch story, anything remotely commercial just brings up pages and pages of useless search results.
I went to DIY stores, one didn't even do external doors!!!
I went on Ebay, looking for 2nd hand doors to cut down, but so far nothing within reasonable driving distance.
Could a 2nd hand uPVC type door be resized to fit?
I'm looking for alternative idea's, im looking for little back street door maker's in the West-Mids area, i'm looking for anything that'll work and won't look a complete mess.

Agree with last poster. Join freecycle in your area, May also be called Freegle. Post a wanted add and explain why you need size and has anyone got a door that is bigger that you can alter to fit or even luckier you might get one exactly right. Mind you I did find on Ebay a while back someone who sold those wooden doors with the Z shaped supports that were hardwood and could be made to order. The cost was around £50 + shipping. and they would treat it or send it bare for you to treat. It is a basic door but you can fit a lock and some bolts onto it. May well use them myself, when weather is better.0

What's wrong with cutting down below the damp course? The dpc is usually 6inches above the floor, so you should be able to fit a standard door in fine. You just won't have a threshold step. A upvc door/frame would obviate any problems you foresee with rotting.A bank is a place that will lend you money if you can prove you don't need it.0
