Can I sit with Gran?

I have flights booked with Qantas in April. I am flying out with my g/f, then she is returning after 2 weeks, and I am returning a week later with my gran who is going out there in a few weeks.
I have no assigned seats for any of the journey. How can I assure I sit with my g/f on the way out, and my gran on the way back?
All flights are with Qantas, apart from SIN-LHR on the return, which is operated by BA (QF codeshare).
I have both my g/f's and gran's booking references.
Do I just phone Qantas?

You can phone and book seats together, but many companies now charge for this (not sure if Quantas is one of them). Alternatively if you check in early, together, you always end up sitting together. Not buying unnecessary toiletries 2024 26/53 UU, 25 IN0

No Qantas do not charge. CAll them up. And then get to the airport early, and double check.0

Yes, check in with your girlfriend reasonably early and you should get a seats together no problem and put in a special request for your return journey with your gran saying she needs you to be her travelling companion (even though I am sure she is more than capable of travelling on her own.)
Airlines companies can be very helpful at times, but people tend to complain when they do bad things and that's what we hear about, not the excellent service they often give.****************************0 -
In 30 years of tavelling by air I have never had a problem getting seated with my companions, if you book in at the allotted time and hand over your tickets etc together you shouldn't have any problems.0
