Bid retraction- now vanished!

This is another weird one. I have a fair amount of stuff listed at the moment. I have been obsessively checking my items morning noon and night and last night noticed that one of my items had a bid.
It was still there earlier today too. The bid was at start price of £5. I've gone back in later on to leave feedback for some items which arrived today and couldn't help checking again. The bid has gone!
That's fine but I can find no evidence of there ever having been a bid in the first place. I've gone through all of the bid retraction stuff to check and it is as if there was never a bid in the first place. How's that possible?

I wonder if all traces would go if the bidder has become NRU?0

That was what I thought might have happened. Unfortunately, I can't remember who was bidding on it so I can't have a dig around!

Same here! I wanted to check the ID of the bidder who retracted, and all I get is 'there have been no bids'. An Ebay glitch perhaps?0

If you click on the bids on your listing even if it says 0 it shows the bid retractions at the bottom of the page usually0

Nothing showing on there, I KNOW there was a bid though because I showed DH.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0

My bid has disappeared into thin air - there this morning, now not a trace.0

I've just rechecked. Now when I scroll down the page after clicking on the bids it shows the retraction. The bidder has put in entered the wrong amount. They entered the start price. They also just paid £20 for some very similar but slightly longer curtains on a BIN. Harrumph. Cheesed off, me? Nah! There's still no sign of my retracted bid - just says no bids.0

Weird isn't it? Maybe it will just reappear at a later date?Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0

I had an email from ebay telling me about the retracted bid (still no sign of it - I've now stopped looking, but at least I know I didn't imagine it!):
A previously entered bid on your item has been retracted or cancelled. You can view the retraction/cancellation and the reason provided by selecting the (bid history) link from the individual item page.
