I'd like to join but I don't have a budget this week as car in for MOT and have no idea if going to cost me anything! Eek!
Will join properly next week if I may?"Nobody made a greater mistake than he who did nothing because he could only do a little." Edmund Burke

NSD for me today, and I am going to set my budget at £20 for the week. I may be getting some bits and bobs for the allotment this week, and if not this week next weekend, so I will put it in the budget just in case.

I have just noticed - has this always been a Sunday to Friday challenge and not including saturday? I'm assuming this is to give a day off on saturday if its the case.0

This looks the very dab for me. Is it ok if I join in on your list folks? Please. :A
My weekly disposable income should be a maximum of £55. When I think of the spending I've been used to over the past few years, I can see that I've had my head firmly in the quicksand. I'm up for air now though and have had my light bulb moment. I'd like to take my budget from Friday to Thursday if thats ok. I took £30 out of the hole in the wall on Friday and I've got £5 left. That leaves me with £30 in total to use by Thursday midnight. I can do that.
So I'll start my budget at £55.0 -
I'd like to join this challenge as it's my first week back for a long time! I have £40 in my purse so will aim to not take any other money out of the wall this week. Have done my food shopping so the £40 should cover everything else!
Agree with Lyndsayjane ..... going to have a quiet night in with Jack Bauer tonight so not out spending!

Last week's budget was £120 and I managed to spend £105. I also carried out 4 spotchecks.
My budget for the week ahead :
Transport : £25 (this is a constant so not sure I should have it in there?)
Lunch : £16
Misc : £40
Social : £50
Total : £126
Spotchecks planned : 4
The misc is for a tank of petrol that I shall definitely need this week as I didnt fill up last week. As far as social goes, the budget is a bit more as I am going to football on tuesday and out for a few drinks after work on friday.0 -

Hi Moozie,
Move up please - I need to join you on the naughty step.
I've actually still got the cash I started out with but only because all expenditure this week has gone on cards  The only saving grace is that I won't pay any interest if I pay them off next month.
The week started OK with 2 NSDs but on Wed my car went in for service and I had to put petrol in the loan car. Worked out that £7 would be enough but petrol station has £10 minimum so added bread and fruit (OK as needed these) and then somehow 3 bags of Cadbury's Mini Eggs (on 3 for 2 offer) leapt into my basket
I should have used cash but always put my petrol on a card as it is the best way to keep track for claiming business mileage on expenses.
Car service then cost more than I hoped and although in theory it is covered by the budget I have actually borrowed the cash to pay for the roof repairs until the insurance claim is paid out (and the insurance company now wants a more detailed bill and I'm having trouble getting this from the roofer). Just hope it is paid out before the cc becomes due.
Next DFW misdemeanour occured when I went clothes shopping with a budget of £50 to buy a mac for me and a jacket for DH. I spent £138! I will be returning some of this next week but will still have overspent. I just need to keep away from shops.
And finally we went out last night with some friends and our share of the meal/drinks bill came to £71  It's the first time we have been out for a meal since November but I was hoping for around £50. It was a great night though (and a double celebration - our anniversary and friend's birthday). On the plus side we agreed not to buy anniversary presents for each other.
So I MUST DO BETTER next week. Am setting a budget of £20 and know that £10 is already "spent" - I have ordered something for a birthday present which will need to be paid for next week.
Oooh it's cold on this naughty step - I don't want to be here next week

Well I'll be joining you on the naughty step as we spent £41.92 this week after buying a desperately needed new rug to cover up the completely ruined patch in front of our fire (Cream carpet and toddlers don't mix!!!!).
DH is back at work tomorrow after having his paternity leave so will set ourselves a target of £35 this week.
