About 6 weeks ago I took a fairly large chunk of glass out of one of my lenses in my glasses. A trip to Specsavers and I was told it would cost me £40 for one new lens. So it was 'thank you I'll think about it', back home and onto the forums where I thought I'd seen something about cheap glasses.
The upshot was that I'm now the owner of a cracking pair of frameless glasses ,UV and Scratch-resistant coated, to my exact perscription, and they fit better than the ones I already had. The cost? - $47 (approx £25). The same pair in Specsavers would have been close to £200!!!
OK, they did take 3 weeks to arrive from Hong Kong and you have to be careful to get your perscription and other measurements right but they are top quality glasses at a fraction of the price our high street opticians charge.
A second pair are now on order so soon I'll have two pairs for £10 more than one Specsavers lens.
The site is easy to use and they let you know what stage your order is at at all times (even link you to the Hong Kong Post Office when they post them so you can see when they leave HK!)
I'd recommend them to everone and have told them so.
