Anyone ever been to the travelodge at the Woolley Edge services on the M1? Wondered about noise, as we usually stay in ones just off motorways rather than on. However, the room is for £15!!!!!!
Anyone been???

Not this particular one, but one's in service areas really don't tend to be good - that's why they are cheap

Depends what you expect from a TL! I've stayed there on business and it was fine. It's quite a way back from the motorway and TL double-glazing cuts down traffic noise anyway. But it's certainly not the place to go if you want to sit out in the gardens! Unless you get high on traffic fumes I suppose!
From memory, the food area at the services has good views of the surrounding countryside.0 -
i've stayed there
the rooms were good and clean just whats needed - we only got ready and slept in the rooms it was jan 06 i was there and we booked 2 rooms and paid about 45 quid for the both of them0 -
Its alright. If you are worried about noise etc there are couple of Holiday Inn Express sort of places a mile futrher north off Jn39 along with a decent proper hotel (Cedar Court) or pubs with accommodation ...(red kite?? ...)0

£15 rooms are subject to availability at all TL's not just at the motorway services. "Never save something for a special occasion. Every day in your life is a special occasion". _party_0 -
Ok if you just want somewhere to stay. You can actually get from one side to another via a gate and a "normal road" instead of going round the motorway junctions but you need the code from the Services. Lovely countryside round there and if you want something to eat use Jcn 39 as a base as there is a variety around there.**BERTIE**Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service?
