Hello
I'm looking for a comparison between gaming thingies which also play DVD's. The old feller has decided (and I know better than to argue) that the laptop isn't up to spec for some of his PC games, and as my PC is actually dead and in pieces, he is considering upgrading the old knackered cheapy DVD player to a game thingy. I think the choices are Playstation and Nintendo, but am quite ignorant, as I don't play computer games. I am rubbish.
Advice welcome.
Oh yes, I HAVE told him that the bedroom is only for sleeping and "bedroom activities" but he is stubborn, possibly a symptom of his mental health disorder; PTSD.

Gamecube wont play DVDs - PS2 does out of the box, XBOX you have to buy an additional unit to get it to work.Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

I am pretty sure that any existing games written for a PC won't play on the games consoles mentioned if they are in PC CDROM format. These consoles may well share the same games titles but the underlying software is incompatible due to hardware differences between the various platforms. Hence you will have to buy new versions of games for a new platform if you wish to change platform.
The most flexible platform is the PC but it is also the most expensive and continually evolving platform.
What is PTSD ? (no need to comment if it is Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.)

PS2 will play DVD's but not PC Games - it'll only play PS2 and PS1/PSX games.0
