Which is safer – credit cards or Ukash for online purchases?

I was advised to pay for my Internet purchases with a Ukash voucher. What is it, and is it safer than a credit card or do I need to worry about scammers stealing my voucher?

Never pay for something with a UKash voucher, it provides absolutely no protection and using a credit card for purchases online is always the best option.0

UKash is like cash, but charges the receiver a fee like a credit card, and doesn't have any of the benefits of a credit card like cash back or section 75 protection.0

Who advised you? Just use your cc as normal for purchases not vouchers!0

You don't have to use a dodgy company to be screwed over, an example being when I ordered from HMV and the item never arrived even though they sent me an email saying they posted it three times. Suddenly when I started a chargeback it was sent via next day delivery though and actually arrived
You wouldn't get any protection like that with UKash and that was not even Section 75 where the credit card company would also be liable as it was under £100. 0 -
Is there actually any benefit to ukash at all?0

if you want to buy a one off purchase and don't have a credit card.
if its the weekend and you need to pay money into you bank account before purchase.
if you want to send someone some money to buy somthing with out having to send the cash in the post.
if you don't want you purchases recorded for cetain items.
sure I could think of more.0 -

If there was a benefit, then the people posting about it here would be genuine users, not accounts seemingly created with the sole purpose to raise its profile...0 -

Ah this is one of the payment method that scammers are now using when they call to say your PC has something wrong with it....
Since these co's were hit hard by visa etc who worked out their scams and allowed money to be claimed back.
They have now switched to this co and western union for payments.
Although with WU. They ring you back the next day and say you have overpaid, but if you give them your card details they will refund the money to your account......
Of course they never debited in the 1st place and debit you via WU.Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
UKash is only useful when you need to buy something online with cash. I have used it in the past when I needed to be anonymous. Their website is extremely lousy, which caused me to lose one of my vouchers. I thought the money was untraceably lost for 2 weeks, but then they suddenly replied to my email, and also gave me compensation!
Unfortunately for them, they made a mistake with the compensation by typing an extra 0, giving me 10x the value! They also spent a lot of money paying for my phone calls (freephone which goes to Germany). Won't use them again though, I find the website of 3V vouchers (available at WH smiths) slightly more reliable and don't need my purchases to be untrackable any more.
