gateway laptops..good/bad/average?

i saw a gatway laptop in tescos, looked like a nice machine and okay price but ive not heard much about gateway

are they a reliable brand or cheap n nasty ? anyone got any expericance?

.Gateway have been making computers for years.I think they took most of their business to Europe in recent years but look to me making a comeback in the UK market.
I have just purchased a Gateway laptop about a month ago. So far, so good, well built, very strong, and i might add it has a great spec!

AFAIK Toys r Us and Staples also sell Gateway computers.

I've seen very good reviews on Gateways but their warranty seems to be their one let down. If anything goes wrong with it you have to arrange to send it back yourself.

thanks for the replies.... i was just looking at them in toys r us and tesco, they seem like a good spec and nice looking for the money
