I had a 3 year no claims bonus when I joined the RAC last year and had my policy for 11 months. I sold my car and I am about to buy another...what would my no claims bonus be now?

It would still be 3 years. Unless it was a 10 month accelerator policy with Admiral, you are required to have a full 12 months claim free to get an extra year on your NCB.0

If you cancelled your policy, those 11 months have gone down the toilet... you'd probably have been better off keeping the policy and transferring it to your new car.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -

Isn't this a GSCE maths question?
I predict the first train will arrive at 6pm.... :rotfl:“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I know it sounds elementary but i thought by paying for the full year I would get the full years claim!0

Have you cancelled the policy?
You don't get NCB just because you pay, you have to "earn" it.0 -

If you paid for the full 12 months and the policy ran the full 12 months then its 1 years NCB.
If you paid the full 12 months but cancelled the policy after 11 then you earn no NCB.0 -
As others said you only get the year if its a full year.0

If you send me the money for 5 years worth of premiums, I will give you 5 years No Claims Bonus.

I switched the insurance in month 11 as I had bought a new car (well second hand car) which I returned to dealer as it has too many faults and therefore had no car to insure - so i cancelled!0
