XP SP2 - Unable to update

I've set up my laptop with a wireless conection via a router yesterday, so can now use the internet after several months without. When I last wired it up in September, I tried to update to SP2 and it always failed (failed 2/3 times yesterday).
If I look at my update history it shows it as failed.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The place to look is in \Windows\WindowsUpdate.log, which tells you why it didn't work.
