Co-Op Bank - Current Account Application

Hi there,
I applied for a Co-Op Standard Current Account at my local branch yesterday. All went well, the assistant said that I should recieve my card etc in about 5-7 working days. While reading the terms and conditions out to me, she said I would be issued with a cheque book; however during my appointment I didn't have to sign anything - not even to say I agreed to the T&C's!
Surely if I am being issued with a cheque book, then they will need a copy of my signature - does anyone think I should query this with them?

I wouldn't worry about it immediately.
The bank will no doubt pick up the fact that you haven't signed anything (I'm assuming that you are not an existing customer) and will probably just send a form to sign in the post or contact you themselves.
The only time signatures on cheques are verified is if they are high value, or subject to a random spot check, or a query is raised on the cheque. So even if Co-op don't chase you up for a signature you can provide one at your own convenience in due course.0 -
Also even when You apply in branch at the co-op it isn't actually opened there and then. It goes back to head office for processing.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Thanks for your replies! They said that everything should be sorted in about a week or so, so I will wait until then and see what happens.0
