Enough of BOGOFs

As has been mentioned,it's hardly discrimination. That's like saying Aston Martin discriminate because I can't afford their cars
They are not stopping you from buying the deal and just letting others buy. You can still purchase the deal at the same rate as those that have a bigger kitchen.
If you don't like these deals you can choose not to shop at the store and if enough customers did this they would change their policy, the supermarkets are there to make a profit. Allowing customers to just buy their normal shopping at reduced prices would not be profitable.0 -
I went in morrisons last saturday because i wanted some cheap milk and also had forgotten to get any cheese off the indoor market
the milk price was unclear how much it was and apparently had gone up 6 new p
however the cheese i wanted was £3.50 or 2 for £5 i didnt want 2 because it would go off before it was used so i didnt buy any
im not averse to bogoff etc and once had 244 cans of hp beans in my celler from makro because they were the last of the great beans to be made in wisbeach.
thing is how do you go on if you are on a limited budget so i agree with the OP it is discrimination0 -

You can freeze cheese. Grating first is advised. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Just buy what you need and ignore the BOGOFFS. Nobody is forcing you to have the "free" item. It doesn't bother me as I rarely buy branded goods.0

I like bogof's. I buy one and they give me another, thank you very much. And if it is a perishable item from the chiller cabinet, or bread, or vegetables, and it can't be frozen, I jolly well eat the damn lot before it goes off. Nothing gets chucked in my house.

Can't help thinking though, -on passing with a trolley filled already with double what I wanted to get (as a result of offers and trying to save in the long run) that it would just be so nice if just for one day, all the bogofs were stopped and single products were half price instead.
If you have to get 2-3 buses home with a walk after that too, often BOGOFs mean you can't get everything you want if your trying to ensure you get the deal and save money. It means two trips to buy things for the week that 1 trip could have otherwise covered.
Not that I'm not greatful (though come on- its not as if Tesco/etc are suffering by producing these offers is it?!) but it would just be nice if I didn't have to buy everything twice!0 -
What I find annoying about BOGOFFs is that the unit price increases. So if a tin previously cost 40p it could then be 50p and a BOGOFF. Then when the price goes down it becomes a 'cut price item at only 44p or such like. At no time do you get two tins for 40p and thus a half price bargain. It's a win win situation for the Supermarkets without ever really loosing money and never having to go as low as half price.
My daughter going off to Uni means that there is less mouth to feed in the house and BOGOFFs are not feasible in many cases. I do have two freezers though 1 for uncooked food and one for cooked. If there is no room in the freezers or the cupboards then there is no need for me to buy something I obviously have plenty in.
I do like to get my Loo rolls and Kitchen towels in a bulk buy from Makro on a BOGOFF offers and I store them in the loft till needed. I also keep an eye out for my favourite cat food (for the cat obviously) I buy it from Pets at home when on offer. It is more expensive per bag from there most of the time but when they have it on offer at 3 for 2 it works out cheaper than anywhere else. So guess when i buy it0
