Flylady is a thread I follow on the old style board - housework. I've only been doing it since Christmas but I'm certainly a lot prouder than I ever was of the state of my house, and almost (only almost) enjoying cleaning.

    I love your eyebrows quote!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Did anyone try out the new forum layout???? No smileys at the beginning of threads!!

  • A late check in for me today. My dear Dad (92 next month!) lives with us and has quite serious memory problems. Last night he couldn't remember that he was supposed to be in bed and didn't settle until 4 am (I cannot leave him to wander so have to stay up with him) and today, while I was dog-walking my morning "pack" -- and in the space of time it took my DD to do her makeup -- he managed to flood bathroom and kitchen below as well as bleed the radiator in his bedroom. He's now catching up on sleep but not many DFW things for me today, I fear.
    Today I have:
    Checked banking
    Won £4.60 (ish) on bingo
Posted an ad to (hopefully) get some cat feeding jobs over Easter and Spring Break
Gained £1.61 from TCB for posting said ad
Avoided calling into lovely "dogs allowed" tearoom while walking afternoon "pack"
    Checked inbox and spam
    Received Co-op card in post
Made DD and her friend lunch from leftovers
    Later, I will:
Try to list a few more bits on Eb*y (but feeling a little fraught right now so may leave until tomorrow)
    Do a couple of surveys
Dinner from stores (making fish pie and veg)
Check -- and action any urgent -- post-its
Heat Dad's room but leave off in rest of house

Enjoy the rest of the day, everyone!

Trying hard to curb my spending and increase my income in 2012
  • Well it's been a spendy day but I feel loads better than I did this morning. And I don't think I was overly frivolous - paid £20 for me and dd to have lunch with my friend which was lovely, then I spent £25 on craft stuff to try diy wedding table centrepieces (was quoted £25 each for the ones I wanted), plus another £20 on 2 dresses, a pair of trousers and a top for work (all sale) and got kids some winter boots to put away for next year.
So everything except the meal budgeted for and paid for out of the wedding and clothing pots. :D
