i`ve got a Yamaha dt125 (2Stroke) and on friday i rode for about 500 yards in pouring down rain and it sort of backfired and stopped!Tried restaritng it and it would turn but not fire.Anyway got it home and stripped it down ,sprayed everything with wd40 but still wouldn`t work.Checked the plug and its sparking but only very weakly. All the electrics are working ok but when i try to kick it it turns over and backfires every now and then......any ideas?

First things to check apart from the spark - do you have fuel coming through and do you have compression?
Backfiring would usually indicate that the mixture or the timing is off - my guess would be the timing. The other potential problem could be the ignition coil (although I think they've got CDI) - if water has got in there and doesn't want to come out it'll mess up the timing.
Also, make sure you're trying to start it with a fully charged battery, otherwise the weak spark may be causing additional problems.0
