    Sightly off topic but from reading your OP am I to assume you own a property yet live in a council flat ??

    If thats correct and IF there isn't a soicially acceptable reason for that do you feel that is the right thing to do??

    Yip I have funds that will cover the usualy sols / morgage arrangment / surveyer fees.

    I agree this isnt a area I would want to bring up children, and if we did have children i woudl look to move.

    Ideally I would want a house in the area Im currently living but financialy thats not really a possibility with out major financial stress and isnt a route I would want to go done.

    This is correct, Although i dont need to justify why this is the case i shall,

    I purchased my house before I met my partner, My mother lives in my house and this is still the case, My partner already lived in the flat I moved in with her because thats what happens in life.

    Me and my partner live in a completely different county to my house and its also easier / quicker and cheaper for me to travel to work from the flat.

    As to if its socialy acceptable I guess thats a matter of opinion but as the council have no problems taking rent and council tax off me if its good enough for them its good enough for me.

    and chances are that if you lived in your house, your mum may have to rent off the council so swings & roundabouts

    Correct plus one of the deciding factors when I got the house is its in the same village as my gran who is 83 so really to swap it all around just for me and my partner to live in my current house would cause a lot of upheavel.

    Well my belief and general opinion is that 99% of first time buyers wouldnt want these properties even though they are the true "First time buyers property" most street house`s are seen buy 20 something `s as houses students / grand parents / DSS live in not the first run on the ladder.

    They want there first house to be a 3 bed semi with front and rear gardens.

    As to why they are going to be sold I dont know there reason other than they need some repair work that if they had been properly managed should have been done before they were let out originaly.
