Debit Card Transaction times???

I made a purchase at a Tesco self service till on 30 January using my Halifax Visa Debit Card and the money has still not been taken or earmarked from my current account.

Normally it is taken 48 hours later but still nothing. How long after making the purchase do Tesco have to take the money? We are only talking about £7 so not a great deal but this has not happened to me before.

Tesco can 'easily' process the transaction anytime in the next 6 months - that is using normal banking procedures. After that it's more difficult but it can still happen.

I remembered paying by debit card for my shopping at Somerfield years ago and the money never came out of my account.

Tesco been a bit odd lately as they been taking payments from my account 7 days later normally holded instantly

Well another day has passed, my bank has updated and still no sign of them taking their money. I almost feel like asking at the store tomorrow just for the hell of it. I can't believe they won't take their money but should it really take this long?

No it shouldn't takes this long - but if things have gone wrong it's not always immediately remediable
