Tesco Credit Card PPI reclaim

I've had a Tesco Credit Card since 1999 and have paid PPI on it all this time. I am adament that I was led to believe it was a mandatory requirement when taking out the card.

Has anyone had any success reclaiming from Tesco Credit Card?

I haven't got all the paperwork from when I took the card out. I've got the template form from the Moneysavingexpert website which I've completed as much info as possible but are some blanks - just need to print it as my printer is bust at the moment.

Also has anyone had any success by phoning a company up to make a PPI reclaim? I've thought about doing this with Tesco Credit Card but wanted some feedback first - especially as I can't print it at the moment.

Many thanks.

  • Tesco may have two possible defences.

The first is that the payments were on the card each month and so it is more than three years since you became aware that there was a problem and more than six years since the events that led to your complaint, so that it can timebar.

The second is that a 1999 sale would predate the General Insurance Standards council's code of practice - so if you wanted to take it to FOS you would be reliant on Tesco voluntarily submitting the dispute to FOS jurisdiction, which it may, or may not, do.

    Hi There

My card was also from 1999, sent a letter to Tesco before christmas (as per my previous post) and they have paid me from 2003.

I had no statements, nothing. Just sent a letter with my details on.

They have been very prompt and today I received my cheque.

Good luck, please write to them.
  • Thanks both for your replies.

I will definitely be sending my letter on Monday when the children have gone back to school. Might have a minute to myself then;-)
